This software contains all the tools that are needed for editing, color, design, text, with gradients, and many configurable effects, with this program we can draw line patterns, organize by layers and resize, likewise we can make elaborate designs with transformations, curves and vectorized, with which we can create from logos, posters, to comics, art, or very professional realistic designs, it also has retouching tools, such as texture, shadows, focuses and blurred.
While Affinity Designer is a great image and vector editor, there are some features that Adobe still leads in. LiveTrace and the Warp tool are two things that Illustrator have but Designer does not, so if you have a raster image you want to convert to vector, it will be tough in Affinity designer without tracing.
I have never been a professional or even an amateur in the field of vector graphics. I only created technical tasks for creating graphics, and at some point, I wanted to check the quality of the work done in more detail at the level of the project file rather than the final drawing, because for me the possibility of corrections and optimization is important. The competent interface of this software allowed me to understand the basic functions myself, and without lessons learned how to make simple designs myself. I am satisfied with it.
It’s almost impossible to judge any vector illustration software without drawing comparisons (excuse the pun) to Adobe Illustrator, and in many ways Affinity Designer compares very well. It certainly feels fast, as a modern, native Mac app should. And unlike Illustrator, you can buy the app for a very affordable one-time purchase-no monthly subscriptions. Affinity has done a great job of unifying (mostly) all their apps, and this has to be mentioned too-Designer exists as part of an ecosystem, which for many designers, makes it the first genuine alternative to Adobe’s Creative Cloud.
There are some features that don’t work as intended or are missing entirely when compared against other vector design software. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to auto-trace a raster image, which would be helpful for my use.
