Overall: Campaign Monitor is wonderful. I recommend it enthusiastically to anyone looking for a full service, easy to use email platform.
Pros: Excellent customer service — a human picks up the phone when you call and works with you to creatively solve problems, if you use the Premier tier. Dashboards and analytics are all intuitive and easy to use. Automation journeys are easy to build and update. Drag and drop templates are easy to use.
Cons: I wish we could establish settings to automatically scrub emails after that were inactive over a certain period. These segments are already created automatically, but we have to export files and copy in email addresses to remove subscribers. I also wish it integrated with ZeroBounce, my preferred email deliverability tool. I also sometimes wish I could edit the HTML on particular sends.
Overall: Campaign monitor is powerful email marketing software and easy to develop against the API with the help of its wrappers such as .NET library. The price is competitive. Our company is very careful with money and we chose campaign monitor.
Pros: We use .NET and there is a .NET libray you can make use of so that you can call campaign monitor API easily. You can create/update/delete subscribers with properties and you can put these properties in the email content if you’d like. There are so much more you can do with campaign monitor and it is powerful email marketing software.
Cons: I cannot think of what I don’t like about campaign monitor. I really appreciate that it has wrapper libraries.
What do you like best?
I love that Campaign Monitor is for the novice coder. By that, I mean that you don’t have to know how to code email templates to use this website. The different template options are great – I can choose any template and customize it to my liking. You can upload photos and change the fonts to match your company’s branding.
What do you dislike?
Campaign Monitor is somewhat restrictive in the sense that you can’t upload custom fonts. A person can only use what’s in the Campaign Monitor database. The given templates can also be kind of rigid in how much someone can customize them.
What do you like best?
Templates ; Campaign Monitor provides myself and my team mates with hundreds of professionally looking templates to choose from, for our email marketing campaigns. This has allowed me as a non-technical user to be able to launch email campaigns without needing to create email designs from scratch.
Marketing automation ; For me, I rate Campaign Monitor as the king when it comes to email marketing automation. Using its visual journey designer, we have been able to create unique customer journeys, which ensures that customers receive timely emails whenever they take certain actions on our website or mobile app.
What do you dislike?
Very glad with my Campaign Monitor experience. Although I think its not too good integration with a lot of third party applications, has sometimes been a problem.
