Reviews
ProTools earned the reputation of being the best DAW for a reason in the 90s and 2000s, and it’s still one of the best. A good layout, great features and shortcuts, and it lets you do all you need once you put in the time to learn it. If you’re in or working with the music industry, it’s still the standard in many pro studios, but that only matters if you’re moving files back and forth a lot.
Pro Tools is a true professional level DAW that offers an incredible array of features and flexibility in addition to it being an industry standard. The recording and especially the editing capabilities are incredible. Detailed editing and comping is the most accurate of any DAW that I’ve worked with. The built in free plugins are also great and worthy of use in real production situations.
I like that the interface of ProTools, and functionality of it is good and easy to use. The PlugIns to use are good, and easy to operate such as the compression/Eq. It is also very easy to navigate, edit, mix, and master the audio when using Pro Tools. The ProTools Avid website is also very good, when you are needing to troubleshoot problems that occur when using Pro Tools. Its easy to mix and master audio through the Maxim master. There a lot of good short keys / edits that make it easier to edit, mix and master the audio that I am working on. I also like the fact that there is a good support network, with the AVID troubleshooting team online who can help with anything if needed. I also like the fact that I can cancel my subcription and resubscribe to Pro Tools at any time.
I love Pro Tools as it is versatile and allow for surgical editing. It also serves as a great DAW for not only recording but also mixing and mastering. It’s also easy to use buses and sends.
Pro Tools has a lot of useful feature to help you get the job done. It comes with a good amount of very useful plugins to get you started. I have spent ridiculous amount money on third party plugins and some of the stock plugins like D verb and 3-7 band EQ stand up in the mix better.
