Reviews
Overall: This software has given us the visibility to see all of the work that we have. Before this we were all siloed in our inboxes, now we have shared communication and collaboration on work.
Pros: I like the fact that this software gives me visibility on Work that is not complete, by person, by budget, by client, by type of work. The flexibility of seeing reporting is great.
Cons: The ability to search emails needs improvement. You can do it, however it is more effective to use Outlook.
Pros: It is designed for accountants to both manage their clients and the team collaboration effectively and efficiently. Either as the owner, partner of the business managing the team or as a team member managing the client projects on a day to day basis, this tool does a great job. I can’t think of not having Karbon HQ. The Karbon HQ team is always providing new updates and on-going trainings to increase the usage efficiency of its users.
Cons: Can’t say there is anything I don’t like. The UX has a classical design and may be updated to have a fresher look and feel but that is a minor enhancement.
What do you like best?
Practice management software I have used in the past all had terrible support. Karbon, on the other hand, has support so responsive that I would very nearly call it excellent. I have had a few issues with higher-level support staff stationed in Australia, which means I had to work with them after hours to get things accomplished.
I also like the flexibility built within the program so that we can apply our particular work-style in an intuitive way. Other software we have used in the past was so rigid that it forced us unto a specific type of work philosophy that we do not believe is best for our firm.
What do you dislike?
My only complaint is that there isn’t a way to easily see what the company is working on next and what’s in the backlog of planned changes. Also, I don’t feel like I have a voice in the process of directing those changes. I would love to see what other people suggest as changes and add my voice to their suggestions.
What do you like best?
I find the triage feature very helpful as it brings in emails, notes, comments all in one page. Also, from the triage, I can convert and organize emails to do’s. Lastly, triage allows me to add emails to a contact’s timeline and/or work for that contact. While before management did not have access to my colleagues emails, now we can see email correspondence between colleagues and clients in the clients timeline. Karbon has given us masse visibility.
What do you dislike?
Downside of Karbon is the time entries. It takes longer to enter time to client work compared to the previous project management software we used. The downside is not having a stop and start clock. The solution should not be to log into tsheets to use the stop and start clock. The reason we love Karbon is the one stop shop for emails, to do’s, work, and time entries. Let’s keep it that way.
Experience with Karbon has been great so far.
Pros
Integrates well with many apps, including Zapier. Like being able to switch between kanban and list view for work overview. Staff are responsive and helpful when needed. Lots of useful and timely webinars are also provided.
Cons
I would prefer to have a telephone helpdesk available, but have grown used to the online help and it’s not that big of a deal now.
