Security is one of the most important aspects of database software since sensitive information can be stored in databases. SQL Servers are some one of the most secure servers out there so data is safe from hackers. The scaling aspect of this software is great so whether your business is very small or very large that uses huge amounts of data to be stored, SQL servers can scale and use appropriate resources to handle databases therefore no lagging issues and problems querying databases etc. which makes it extremely fast and efficient.
It doesn’t perform as well as the MariaDB Database Server and the security doesn’t seem as good either, but it’s still much easier to use than MariaDB.
I like the ease of use with all the available features. I’ve been using SQL Server for over 11 years and I love that it continually gets better and it has so much support and resources available.
What I don’t like most about this is that the error messages can be lacking sometimes leaving you puzzled as to what actually occurred. For example, if you miss a comma while listing out the fields you are querying for you can get a strange error rather than a syntax error. Also being able to query all procedures and tables for search terms should be built in by default but it is not. Instead, I have to use third-party software to achieve this.
Only I know very least number of disadvantages this MS SQL server 2016 is having: 1. Enterprise pricing may be costly as some of the organisation cant afford for the count of data they are having. 2 With the performance tuning, Microsoft SQL Server will be having some gobble resources.
