To derive the maximum benefit of targeted email marketing we first need to segregate our audience on the basis of factors like geographic region, demographics, psychographics like interests and behavioral like intentions.

2. Benefits Of Targeted Email Marketing
Before anything else, we need to know how targeted email marketing helps us.
1. Relevant
One reason why businesses are unable to convince their customers is that their emails lack personal touch. By using targeted email marketing you can send a specific set of customers an email that makes sense only to them. Your audience wants content that fulfills their need gap and by sending them emails that help do that you are building a strong bond with them.
2. Response
As a marketer you want your customers to respond to whatever message you have been trying to send across to them. Probably you want them to sign-up for a new service or a simple reply is what you are looking for. By sending targeted emails you are sure to get the kind of response you are looking at.
3. Increase In Sales
Your carefully designed email campaign can sure get your customers to move ahead and complete the purchase. If they feel that the content you have offered is sure to help them choose their kind of product they would do so willingly. This would boost your revenues and lead to an increase in sales.
4. Building Relationships
Targeted emails are much more personal and therefore they help you to associate with your customers on a different level altogether. You should be able to give them some value through this relationship and then the customer would take the initiative to get to know you further.
5. Retaining Customers
You have built a strong bond with them and next, your aim is to make them stay with you in the long run. By continually sending targeted emails you are telling them that you care and they can trust you with further business too. This means that your customer base would not leave you and go elsewhere.
3. Creating A Targeted Email Marketing Campaign
Though you can always hire trustworthy email marketing services to help formulate a campaign the below are steps that are required to do so.
1. Based On Type Of Customers
You need to understand that every customer you are handling may be at a different level of sales funnel. For example some may be totally new while others would be at the point of finalizing the purchase. Others may be your loyal customers who have stuck to you for long. Formulating emails according to their position is surely going to work in your favor.
2. Interests
If you know what kind of products the customer would prefer you can pursue sending emails accordingly. For example, you have sent an email to them with details of various types of bags. If they click on backpacks you know that they want to purchase one. You can now keep sending them emails with regards to this product. The customer is happy to see a specific email and he would move on to complete the purchase.
3. Location-Based
Naturally if you are living in one location you would be purchasing from someone who is residing there. If you have an offer going on in a specific location you would not want to send its email to someone who does not reside there. Especially small-time stores can send their targeted offers so that customers can avail of any benefits that are being offered specifically.
4. Engagement
All your customers are different and their opinions about you vary too. While some of them willingly open every email you have to offer rest take days to do so. You should segregate them basis the kind of engagement they maintain with you. For instance, if you want your customers to respond you can send only dedicated product listings to them.
Conclusion
Targeted email marketing is in and for upcoming business, it proves to be a blessing in disguise. Its benefits are manifold and the personalized touch it offers gives your readers a chance to build a special bonding with you.
Along with the fact that you can promote your product only as per the region you are focused on is also something you cannot forget. In future the trend of targeted email marketing would open new vistas of growth for the businesses and everyone would surely be waiting for that special moment.

Review : Capterra
Overall : Overall, the best email marketing solution my team has worked with in the last year. Fair value for money i must say too.
Pros : Great suggestive features such as email-body formatting tips – Nice delivery and send-out time – Extensive scenario handling for segmentations and optional blocks – Great responsiveness of website across multiple form factors on devices(mobile, tablet, etc)
Cons : Some features and configurations can be a bit hard to figure out without a fairly technical background – Email builder templates felt a bit restrictive in terms of styling and formatting options

Review : PCMag
SendinBlue (which begins at $25 per month for the Lite plan) is part email marketing, part short message service (SMS), and part email services utility. This makes it unique with regards to the digital marketing benefits it can deliver. So, if you want to see how it will fit into your own marketing tactics, then take advantage of its free version, which amounts to an entirely free tier like the one offered by its competitor MailChimp. You can use this tier for longer than a typical free trial period, which means you can get a feel for the solution without having to commit to an expensive solution right away. It doesn’t offer templates as effective as Editors’ Choice Campaigner, though.
4. iContact
iContact is another all-around email marketing tool that falls into a similar category to Constant Contact and GetResponse. Growing your business is easy with iContact’s email marketing solution. Go from signing up to sending your first message in minutes.
Review : GetApp
It makes my life loads easier. I can use my graphic design abilities to make eye catching emails and that intrigues people which leads them to want more information about our church. I can whip up an email in less than half the time it took prior to contracting with iContact. Also, being able to call customer support and rarely have to be on hold is a benefit along with the support coming from people who are easy to talk to, who converse as real people rather sounding mawkish.
5. Sendlane
Sendlane have built some unique and interesting features, like machine-learning open predictability to optimise your email send times, and advanced segmentation.
Sendlane empowers eCommerce brands and content creators to collect, segment, and automate their customer’s journey through email and SMS marketing
Review : Software Advice
Great option for email marketing beginners
Pros : I found Sendlane to be fairly simple to use. The interface is pretty intuitive and making landing pages was pretty easy too. The landing pages are really nice looking.
Cons : At times the landing page software would freeze up/stop working suddenly and if I didn’t save I’d have to start over…so there must be some bugs that need to be worked out still.
